Michael MacDonald
Ph.D. Student
I completed my B.Eng and M.A.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering at McMaster University, where my interest in energy storage materials and devices began. My master’s thesis involved research and development of magnetically ordered supercapacitor devices. I am now a PhD student in the department of Chemistry at Dalhousie University, and have shifted my focus from supercapacitors to batteries at the Dahn-Metzger-Yang lab, where I am analyzing the gasses that evolve from reactions occurring in batteries using a state of the art 6 channel mass spectrometry machine.
