Ph.D. Student
I earned my bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University in 2020, followed by impactful project work at the Central Research Lab. From 2022 to 2023, I specialized in electrochemistry in South Korea, developing novel electrolytes for double-layered supercapacitors. After obtaining a master’s degree from Illinois State University—where my thesis explored rearrangement reactions in pyrones—I shifted my focus toward battery safety.
My current doctoral research utilizes Operando Electrochemical Mass Spectrometry (OEMS) to identify and quantify gaseous species generated during battery cycling. By understanding these chemical pathways, I aim to enhance the safety and performance of next-generation energy storage systems.
Outside of research, I like to watch tennis and Football (hoping Manchester United does not ruin my weekend).
